Thai Students

I've heard many Farang chat about Thai students and Thai schools how Thai students care about 'Sanook' and less concern in 'academic quality' comparing to students in China and Korea. I personally feel this statement sounds insulting. I will not say they are right or wrong. Of course, there are lots of students who really love to be 'sanook' rather than focusing in their study and education quality, especially teenagers, which I think many countries are facing the same problem, not just Thailand. There are always Thai students who really care for their education and try their best in developing themselves both in academic quality and foreign language competency. Don't judge Thai students just by a few years of your teaching in Thailand, especially when you are working with Thai students and Thai schools.
